Fourth Round of Negotiations for the Modernization of the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and Mexico
From June 26 to 30th, the fourth round of negotiations for the modernization of the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union and Mexico (FTA EU-MX) took place in Mexico City.
During that week, Mexican and European delegations held working meetings under 20 negotiation groups considered within FTA EU-MX coverage. This, in order to achieve agreements on different subjects under discussion. In particular, respective texts regarding market access, identification of common provisions on trade in services, including telecommunications will be pursued. Also reaching new agreements on sanitary and phytosanitary measures, as well as on intellectual property.
The fifth and sixth round of negotiations will take place in Brussels and Mexico in October and November respectively.
